Bali Living Sucks
Moving to Bali seemed like a dream…
Then I found out that most places here don’t come with a kitchen. I had no choice but to eat all my meals out in restaurants for $10 per day, or if I’m feeling lazy, have it delivered to my home for $1. I had been deprived of the pleasure of grocery shopping, cooking, and washing dishes.
They don’t even provide me with cleaning supplies. How am I supposed to pick up after myself? Sure, there is a full time cleaning staff that mops my floor, cleans my bathroom and changes my linen for me 3 times per week. It’s included in my rent, but how the hell am I supposed to clean up after myself in case of a spill? What should I do, just leave it there for 2 days until the maids clean it? Or call them over to help me clean it because they are literally available 24/7? No thanks, let me spend hours each week cleaning my own house.
Not to mention that I don’t even have a washing machine. I have to put my clothes into a bag, take it to the laundry place just down the road where they wash, dry, press, fold and plastic wrap my clothes for me within 24 hours at 50 cents per kilo. Can you even imagine the inconvenience that this causes me?
And oh my God, the sunshine. Give me a cloudy day every once in a while for Christ’s sake. I can’t take all this sun and warmth anymore. Just one day a year I’d love to wear pants.
To top it all off, my living costs are so low that I only need to work my remote job about 12 hours per week to pay for everything.
Just what the hell am I supposed to do with all that free time?
Did anyone ever think about that??
I literally have to force myself to come up with things to do everyday. I have to take my time enjoying every meal. I have to go and watch breathtaking sunsets or walk along the beach almost every day because I can’t think of anything better to do.
You just can’t imagine the burden and stress this causes.
Bali sucks, don’t come here.
